The Otterbein Police Department is dispatched primarily through the Benton County Sheriff Department and cannot provide 24 hour coverage. Therefore, if a police officer is needed, please contact the Benton County Sheriff's Department or Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department. An Otterbein Officer will be dispatched if available.

All handgun applications must be completed online at firearms.ariesportal.com

 

Once completed online, contact the Otterbein Town Marshal to make an appointment in order to complete the process. Local fees, payable to the Town of Otterbein, must be in the form of cash, money order or certified check, personal checks will not be accepted.

Police / Crash Reports

Crash and police reports, prepared by the Otterbein Police Dept. may be obtained by contacting the police department. We will not release any reports prepared by another agency. Concerning investigative reports as sometimes requested by insurance companies, only that portion which contains, pertinent information will be released.

Code Red Notifications

Benton County is currently using the Code Red system to notify the communities of severe weather conditions and other emergency situations. Code Red is a service which can send out information thru phone calls, text messages, and/or emails. The Town of Otterbein will also use the system to notify Otterbein residents of community events and alerts such as water issues, boil advisories, trash updates, street closings, and etc.
